Our company has grown over the past 11 years, but our passion and commitment to responsible travel have remained unchanged: we guarantee a responsible operation.
At Machu Picchu Travel Adventure, we are firmly committed to continually improving our sustainability practices. We believe that every small action counts in minimizing our environmental impact every day.
We focus on reducing our energy consumption by turning off lights when not needed and unplugging equipment. Additionally, we prioritize recycling, ensuring that paper is reused and plastic bottles are sent to specialized centers. To combat the use of single-use plastic, we have installed a water purifier that allows our team and guests to refill their canteens, thus reducing the need for disposable bottles.
At MTA, we are also deeply committed to and conscious of climate change. Therefore, we have launched a reforestation project that not only seeks to restore our ecosystems but also to foster greater awareness about protecting our planet and the environment among all participants.
As part of this commitment, once a year we join local communities in Cusco to plant trees, actively contributing to the recovery of our landscapes and the well-being of future generations.
At Machu Picchu Travel Adventure, we are deeply committed to the sustainable economic development of local communities through community-based rural tourism.
A clear example of this commitment is our collaboration with the Urpis Textile Association of Antaquillka. Here, host Yeni Quispe Sallo immerses us in the traditional weaving methods, daily life, and authentic cuisine of the Cuper Bajo community in Chinchero.
In turn, we provide sustainability training to these communities, promoting responsible practices that benefit everyone.
